Australian War Memorial Roll of Honour

Many Kytherian Australian immigrant signed up to fight for their adopted county in both WWI and WWII. Fortunately, all of them made it back from WWI, but not all returned from WWII.

Below are the names as shown on the Roll on Honour in the Australian War memorial in Canberra.

TZETZOS (GENGOS), Private Stilianos born 1919

Served in 2/15 Australian Infantry Battalion. Killed in action in North Africa 1 September 1942. Found on panel 38.

SOURIS, Euripides born 1917

Served in 26 Australian Battalion. Was shot by a Japanese sniper 27 February 1945. Found on panel 66.

VAMVAKARIS (HARRIS), Private Georgios

Served in 2/22 Australian Infantry Battalion. Died from illness 24 February 1942. Found on panel 49.
